SkateShoesPH's Top 10 Nike SB Dunks

SkateShoesPH has seen each release and watched Dunks develop. One constant that we've noticed from the very beginning has been the inclusion of the Dunk in each season. These Dunks were given an SB once over as it lent itself to skateboarding off the bat. It has caused quite a stir on a number of occasions, and whenever a big release is on the cards we felt it apt to refresh your memories with our own list of our favourite Dunks.

The Nike SB Futura was one of our favorites. It's part of the silver box releases that sold like hotcakes. It's considered as one of best SBs ever released by the many as the colorway and choice materials were superb.

Designed by Reese Forbes, this Nike SB Hunter proved popular. This was yet another design to make the most of materials. It features a camouflaged toe, heel detailing, burlap uppers, an orange sole and Swoosh.

The Melvins dunk high is a dope shoe that features a white canvas with a blood stain prints and a black sole and Swoosh. There's a Chinese character for blood on one side of the heel while the Melvins logo appears embroidered on the other side.

The De La Soul Dunk High was the high top which drew a huge crowd on its release. It's yet another shoe which benefited from making use of the most materials to hand with a green cement print on the toe and around the laces. Most intriguing on this shoe was the use of the 3 Feet High and Rising album artwork on the heel in hologram form.

This Nike SB Stussy was released as part of the team managers pack. Though, overshadowed by the Diamond release which was part of the same pack, it's still considered as one of the best dunk lows ever released. Designed by Stussy team manager Robbie Jeffers, it features, neapolitan ice cream flavours strawberry, chocolate and vanilla inspired the colourway, finished off with a cherry on top or should I say on the tongue tag :).

The Simpsons "Homer" Dunk were based on the colors of our favorite nuclear power plant employee "Homer Simpson" which also sold out instantly.

Ten years ago, Nike SB released the Lucky and Unlucky Dunk High's, but the unlucky dunk  garnered the most interest. These shoes had number 13 in place of the 7 on the Lucky's and a combination of black suede and leather with gold detailing. Though considered as unlucky, these shoes sold out to queues, so I must say that it's unaffected by superstition.

Futura has collaborated with with U.N.K.L.E to create the U.N.K.L.E Dunkle. It's a black and pink leather Dunk High that has Futura's artwork all over the toe, heel and side panels. It also has a Mowax logo on the insole. These shoes sold out in less than an hour.

The Tiffany Dunk came out in 2005 as part of the team manager pack, along with the Stussy. Designed by Nick Tershay from Diamond, it features a Tiffany aqua blue upper, Diamond logo on the tongue, a chrome Nike Swoosh and black crocodile print leather on the toe, heel and lacing panel. The hype on this shoe lives on still, and you'd still be able to cop your pair for a reseller's/rape price.

Our number one SB is the What The Dunk. It took recognizable features from many of the most popular SB Dunk releases. Each shoe was a mash up of the the pigeons, the lucky/unlucky highs, the Jedi's, the Denims, Cali's, the the Hufs and the list goes on. It's a super limited shoe that's very hard to find these days.

We hope you enjoyed reading this article and let us know your top 10 dunk sbs in the comments section!
