To raise awareness on Mental Health, Suicide Alertness, and Prevention, Scottish pro skateboarder John Rattray founded Why So Sad? as a biking and skating fundraising effort in 2017. Nike SB has taken notice of the movement and will collaborate with Why So Sad? on a Nike SB Dunk Low that will be released later this year.
The sneaker has a University Blue upper with Navy accents and a liner. The Swoosh appears to be rub-away plastic, showing a yellow Swoosh beneath. The Seagull of Why So Sad is displayed on the lateral heel of the shoe, while the heeltab is in red. Finally, the sneaker is completed with a white midsole and ice blue outsole.
