Tampa Pro 2015 has come and gone and has proven that it is still the benchmark skate contest. The level of competition this year was the highest it has ever been and a very close finals had everyone on the edge of their seat. In the qualifying rounds, it really looked like it would be between Shane O'Neill and Ishod Wair, but come Sunday Nyjah Huston and Luan Oliveira were clearly battling it out for the title.

In the end, Luan Oliveira took the title with an unbelievable one-minute run that was followed up by another solid minute of tricks that didn’t even go towards his score. The crowd was on their feet and jaws on the ground!  

As for Tampa Pro, after 20 years the intensity continues to rise and rise. Brian Schaefer and company, SkateShoesPH salutes you.

Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan 1 High dubbed “Shattered Backboard” this year that's inspired by his airness' backboard shattering moment in Trieste, Italy way back in 1985.




Before the Jordan/Bulls era, Michael Jordan was breaking backboards in exhibition games overseas. During a Nike Exhibition game in Trieste, Italy, Michael Jordan scored 30 points before shattering the backboard on the opposing team. Cool eh?

The Nike Air Jordan 1 High “Shattered Backboard” will feature the jersey worn by Jordan at the Nike exhibition game (a Black Orange and White colorway). Nike has brought back a familiar design aspect of formal dress shoes to a pair of Nike SB Janoski skate shoes. The Nike SB Janoski Black & Gold Wingtip flaunts a black suede upper, and a tailored wingtip design along its outer shell and across the toebox. It also comes with gold eyelets which add a fancy touch to the otherwise gritty design. This is definitely not for skateboarding :) $100.
