From community BBQs to family traditions centered around mealtime, the dinner table has been bringing people together for generations. This fresh take on the Nike SB Dunk Low gestures for another helping to keep the conversation going.

Made with durable leather and textiles, it mixes a Sesame and Pear colorway with polished accents for a cutlery-inspired shine. Dark Russet laces and a Fir collar lining round off the food groups, while plush padding and Air Zoom cushioning help soften those heavy landings. Check out the insole graphics—a little reminder to skate home in time to sit down with your loved ones. Dinner is served. 6,895php.

The D3 series has established itself as one of the most beloved and best-selling skate shoes in history. Since its launch in 1999, the D3 collection has sold millions of pairs at retail. It stands as a testament to Osiris’ creativity and innovation, showcasing the brand’s early capacity to set and influence trends in the broader footwear industry.

Check out this new colorway for the D3 2001 in Black/Orange; it's hard to pass up. $119.

Released in 2006 during the Black Box Era, this sneaker pair is inspired by the iconic Black & Yellow “Bic” logo. Bic, or Société Bic S.A., is a French company founded in 1945 by Marcel Bich, known for disposable razors, lighters, and stationery. Their most famous product, the “Bic Cristal” ballpoint pen, launched in 1950, has sold over 100 billion units and is exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Center Pompidou in Paris.

The “Bic Boy” logo, created by Raymond Savignac in 1961, features a schoolboy with a ball-shaped head, symbolizing the tungsten carbide ball used in Bic pens. The “Bic” SB Dunk Low features White & Yellow leather with Black suede, reflecting the original logo colors, though the yellow shade differs slightly. An ultra-rare high version exists in the “EMB Brazil Custom Series.” What do you think of this pair? Is it the best Yellow SB Dunk ever?

Released in 2021 during the Purple Box Era, this pair of SB Dunks was notable for being the first and last made with vegan leather. Dressed in Baroque Brown vegan leather, a white midsole, and a Pine Green outsole with matching laces, it embodies the essence of a vegan SB. Vegan leather, made from agricultural waste and sustainable materials, is a cruelty-free alternative to animal leather.

Originally set for a worldwide release in January 2021, it was only available in Mexico, parts of Europe, and a few other countries, with the U.S. drop canceled, contributing to its obscurity. While Nike has released several vegan shoes, this SB Dunk may not appeal to skaters who prefer traditional materials. The colorway is decent, and the quality appears better than that of the "Pawnshop" SB Dunk Highs, but personally, I believe nothing can replace the feel of suede and leather on an SB. For vegans seeking SBs, this release seems like a way for Nike to cater to that market with plant-inspired colors. Overall, I'm not a fan.

The "Strawberry Cough" SB Dunk High, released in 2021 and designed by Todd Bratrud, draws inspiration from a cannabis strain of the same name. Featuring red textured leather and green suede, the design resembles strawberries and marijuana buds. The sneaker showcases a "Strawberry Character" on the lateral heels and insoles, set atop translucent outsoles.

Created by cannabis grower Kyle Kushman in the early 2000s, "Strawberry Cough" has become a sought-after strain, but the SB Dunk High didn't meet expectations compared to previous releases like "Skunk" and "Reverse Skunk." Despite initial hype, resale values have dropped significantly, with pairs selling for as low as $180. The shoe may be underrated, as its connection to marijuana isn't as strong for casual fans. The collaboration includes special packaging and merchandise, yet its market value continues to decline.

Released in 2005 during the Pink Box Era, the Nike SB Dunk Low “Band-Aid” is inspired by adhesive bandages, notably the popular “Band-Aid” brand by Johnson & Johnson. The shoe features Light Grey suede, a Dark Grey swoosh and midsole, and a Black outsole and collar, with a striking Red accent on the heel tab, tongue tag, and laces, reminiscent of the discontinued Red string used to open Band-Aids. It also includes perforated side panels, earning it the nickname “Gino 3’s” for its resemblance to Gino Iannucci’s style.

In 2013, Nike SB collaborated with LA skate shop Brooklyn Projects to create a limited edition sneaker inspired by the Hollywood “Walk of Fame.” The shoes featured pebbled black leather, red accents, and a gold swoosh, representing the stars on the sidewalk.

Due to legal issues, the original public release was canceled, and only 500 pairs were sold exclusively in-store for $169, with wristbands required for purchase. The release included special T-shirts for the first 150 customers. Although intended for a February launch to coincide with the Academy Awards, the release was delayed by several months. Ultimately, a limited QS version with only 600 pairs was made available, featuring different branding details.

Released in 2014 during the Teal Box Era, the “Disposable” SB Dunk Low is a collaboration between Nike SB and skateboard artist Sean Cliver, inspired by his book “Disposable: A History Of Skateboard Art.” Cliver, known for his work as a writer, photographer, and owner of Strangelove Skateboards, has collaborated with Nike SB on various projects, including the “Strangelove” and “Holiday Special” SB Dunk Lows.

“Disposable” showcases over 1,000 influential skateboard graphics from the 80s to the early 2000s, featuring decks from legends like Tony Hawk and Steve Caballero. To celebrate the book's 10th anniversary, the “Disposable” SB Dunk Lows were released, featuring a colorway that mirrors the book's cover with faded black, pink, white, and rustic grey on vintage gum bottoms, and special branding on the heel and insoles.

Released in 2014 during the Teal Box Era, the Nike SB Dunk High “Chairman Bao” is a collaboration with NYC's Baohaus, a Taiwanese restaurant founded by Chef Eddie Huang, which closed in 2020.

Huang, known for his memoir and the ABC sitcom “Fresh Off The Boat,” drew inspiration from Baohaus for this sneaker. The hi-top skate shoe features grungy grey suede uppers, reflecting the texture of traditional baozi, and icy blue soles inspired by the restaurant's neon sign. The insoles showcase a graphic of the signature “Chairman Bao” dish.

In 2019, Nike SB released a modern rendition of the 2005 “Raygun” pack, inspired by a Tie-dyed hoodie worn by Sandy Bodecker, who passed away the previous year. The original 2005 pack featured two SB Dunk Lows (Black Home and White Away) based on Nike’s fictional ABA team, the “Roswell Rayguns,” created in 2002. The pack showcased legendary Raygun colors and was designed by customizer Methamphibian.

The Black pair was exclusive to the USA and Canada, while the White pair was available elsewhere, making it rarer. The original “Raygun” was also significant for being the first Dunk with the “Nike SB” logo on the tongue tag.

Released in 2012 during the Blue Box Era, the Nike SB Dunk Low “Black & Tan” was inspired by the alcoholic beverage of the same name, a mix of stout and pale ale. The shoe features a black to brown gradient, crafted from suede, leather, and canvas, with a unique detail of contrasting materials on the mid panels. The insole showcases an image of the “Black & Tan” cocktail.

Launched in March for St. Patrick's Day, the shoe's promo campaign included a controversial ad stating, “Tis the season for Irish beer and why not celebrate with Nike.” Unfortunately, the term “Black & Tan” is offensive in Ireland, referring to a British unit known for suppressing Irish revolutionaries in the early 1920s. This association with police brutality led to significant backlash, prompting Nike to issue an apology for their lack of awareness regarding the term's connotations. In Ireland, the drink is referred to as “Fifty Fifty.”

Released in 2008 during the Gold Box Era, the Nike SB Dunk Low “Gibson Guitar Case” is inspired by the iconic Gibson “Les Paul” brown guitar case. The shoe features light British tan leather with a metallic gold swoosh and pink stitching, and a vibrant pink fur sockliner that adds character.

One standout detail is the insole, which depicts “Spare Change,” referencing musicians who earn tips in their open cases. Designed by Shawn Baravetto, the shoe captures the rugged vintage aesthetic of the classic Gibson case from the 60s.

The name “Les Paul” honors Lester William Polsfuss, a pioneering musician and inventor known for his contributions to the solid body electric guitar. Les Paul passed away in 2009, shortly after the shoe's release, leaving fans to wonder if he ever saw it.

Released in 2008 during the Gold Box Era, the Nike SB Dunk Low “720 Degrees” is inspired by the Atari arcade game of the same name, which refers to two full spins on a skateboard. The game was launched in 1986, the same year the designer was born.

That year, Nike SB released only one official collaboration, the “Red Lobsters” with CNCPTS, but many unofficial collaborations drew inspiration from rock bands, video games, and movies. Notable releases included “Gibson Guitar,” “Fender Bass,” “Skate Or Die,” and various movie-themed designs like “Ferris Bueller” and “Boba Fett.”

The Gold Box Era is considered the "Inspired By" era, featuring vibrant, retro designs that may have seemed tacky at the time but now fit modern street fashion. The “720 Degrees” features charcoal leather uppers, black nubuck panels, a bright pink swoosh, and colorful accents, embodying the era's unique style.

Designed by Shawn Baravetto, who contributed to many iconic pairs from this period, the “720 Degrees” remains a nostalgic favorite for those who remember purchasing them at retail.

In 2011, Nike SB released the “Skeletor” SB Dunk Low, inspired by the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” from 1993, designed by Tinker Hatfield. The shoe's colorway resembles Skeletor, the supervillain from “He-Man & The Masters Of The Universe,” with Baltic Blue suede matching his skin and Varsity Purple reflecting his hood and cape. Yellow laces were added for contrast.

Skeletor, whose real name is Keldor, is a blue-skinned sorcerer from Eternia, known for his dark magical powers and as the archenemy of He-Man, the protagonist of the popular 1983 cartoon series.

In 2007, Nike SB released the “Fallen Heroes Pack,” inspired by entertainers from the 80s whose reputations suffered due to controversy. This included the “Peewee Herman” SB Dunk High, inspired by the TV character's arrest, and two non-Dunks inspired by “MC Hammer” and “Vanilla Ice,” known as one-hit wonders. The pack also featured the “Milli Vanilli” SB Dunk Lows, referencing the infamous R&B group caught lip syncing during a 1989 MTV performance.

Milli Vanilli, created by producer Frank Farian in 1988, sold over 7 million albums in the U.S. but faced downfall after their playback CD skipped live, revealing they weren't the actual singers. The duo's inability to speak English led to further scrutiny, resulting in their Grammy being revoked and their reputation shattered.

The Nike SB Dunk Low “Milli Vanilli” features suede and leather resembling the outfits worn at the 1990 Grammys. The tongue tag displays a treble clef, nodding to their music, while the laces mimic their long dreads.

Released in 2006 (Black Box Era), this collaboration with Medicom Toy was part of the “3 Bears Pack” alongside “Baby Bear” SB Dunk Low and “Papa Bear” SB Dunk High, marking the first SB Dunk Mid. Nike SB Dunks have been very popular over the past year or so, with several collaborations like Futura, Born x Raised, and April Skateboards blending skate culture and streetwear. However, as the 2024 Olympics approach, Nike has shifted its focus to the performance aspect of skateboarding, introducing the Nike SB PS8.

The Nike SB PS8 represents a step forward for skate shoes. It is named the "Problem Solver 8" as it aims to address eight common issues found in skate shoes and previous Nike SB products. Designed in collaboration with Nike's Sport Research Lab, the shoe is built to better withstand the impact of tricks and improve the feel and connection with the skateboard underfoot. It features a Flightknit upper for a lightweight and breathable fit, as well as leather panels in high-stress areas to enhance durability.

The Nike SB PS8 "Paris Olympics" colorway is part of a wider Paris-themed SB pack that also includes a Janoski and SB Dunk. This Safari-inspired iteration features a combination of orange and blue accents, with the orange appearing on the sock liner and outsole, and the blue on the laces and midsole. The leather panels showcase a familiar spotted pattern, while the upper itself remains in a neutral "Sail" tone.

The release date for the Nike SB PS8 "Paris Olympics" is still forthcoming, but more information is expected to be shared soon. TBA.

Street artists and sneakers share a close-knit connection that has spawned many iconic sneaker releases over the years. Many of these collaborations have achieved "holy grail" status, where the pairs are extremely rare and command high resale prices beyond the reach of the average sneakerhead.

One such legendary partnership is between living street art icon Futura and Nike SB. Futura has lent his signature graffiti-inspired art to numerous sneaker collaborations, including the UNKLE SB Dunks and the first Futura x Paul Rodriguez SB. His most recent collaboration was the unreleased Off-White x Futura Dunk Low.

Now, Futura fans have something to look forward to - the Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low is finally slated for release in May 2024. This collaboration serves as a visual showcase of Futura's creative style, featuring colorful layers of mesh and canvas that perfectly complement his abstract art.

Distinguishing features of the Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low include the iconic Futura signature on the tongue and heel, as well as the "FL" Futura Laboratories logo on the medial side. While the blue colorway has been confirmed for a global release, the status of the orange colorway remains uncertain.

Priced at $135 MSRP, these Futura x Nike SB Dunks are sure to be highly coveted by sneaker enthusiasts. Those able to secure a pair will truly have a reason to celebrate this long-awaited collaboration.
