Vans has collaborated with Skateistan, a well-known international non-profit, on a new mission-driven collection of shoes and apparel that promotes community togetherness, self-expression, and creativity. Skateistan was founded in Afghanistan to help youth develop through skateboarding and education, and it has grown to the worldwide stage with skateboarding and educational ventures in Cambodia, South Africa, Jordan, Bolivia, and Kenya. The spirit of community collaboration is reflected throughout Vans x Skateistan's new collection, with Vans donating $200k to Skateistan for skateboard development.
With the goal of skateboarders making the world a better place through the power of skateboarding in mind, Skateistan and Vans collaborated to create an innovative and genuinely inspiring spin on the Skate Sk8-Hi, Skate Era, Skate Slip-On, and a complete men's, women's, and kids' apparel line.
In the summer of this year, Vans and Skateistan collaborated on a one-month campaign to highlight what makes skateboarding so special: the streets, skateparks, backyard pools, and communities that built it from the bottom up. To support Skateistan's youth programming as part of that effort, Vans donated an additional $200k to the Tides Foundation.
The Vans x Skateistan collection will be available beginning November 11, 2021, at Vans stores and Vans.com/Skateboarding. Visit Skateistan.org to learn more about the organization's mission.
