Based on the worldwide renowned Copa Mundial soccer shoes, the adidas Busenitz Black, White and Red Suede Shoes take the best of adidas comfort and mold it's details towards an incredible cupsole designed skateboarding shoe. Featured with a black suede upper, vector tread bottom outsole, and Geofit technology for comfortable padding, these shoes remain relatively lightweight and give you the confidence you need to skate as fast as Busenitz himself. $80.

The Campus first made its name way back in the '80s when it found a high-profile place in the world of hip hop. This shoe has been reissued to pay homage to a well known skateboarder, film-maker, and visual artist - Brian Lotti.

Made from premium suede in collegiate navy, these Adidas Campus 80s RYR x Brian Lotti shoes feature long-lasting durability and style that never stops. Part of the Respect Your Roots collection, they feature custom artwork by skate patriarch Brian Lotti on the tongue label and insoles. $80.

Turn heads on the streets with these Gothic inspired skate shoes. It's Mark Suciu's first pro shoe that comes with all the tech specs for today's skateboarder without loosing an ounce of style. It features a lightweigth cupsole construction, adiprene insole, a premium suede and mesh upper, and  full lace closure. The Adidas Suciu Adv is available in black/white and mesa/white colorways. $80.

Adidas Skateboarding has been in the shoe business for quite a while, and from its well-executed marketing to its quality shoe releases, the brand earned my respect over the years. Even still, somehow I found myself skeptical of the Adidas Busenitz, which is the brand's hallmark when it comes to skate shoes. I was profoundly curious as to whether it could exceed my expectations to what a SB shoe should be.

And yeah, to answer all my questions I bought a pair of the Busenitz pro…

Price

Offered at a price of roughly around 4000php (on Cogphils.com), it is on the higher end of the skate shoe price spectrum, but considerably worth the price tag given its durability and comfort.

Models

At first I wasn't really feeling the busenitz pro because of its football-ish looks. But after a few days, they really grew on me and easily became one of my favorites. It looks really sharp and sexy, especially the red suedes. At first, you may not be feeling the tongue at all but don't cut it off after a while, it will grow on you as it makes the shoe look sexy.  Arguably, these skate sneakers have a sleek silhouette that looks good on slimmer fitting jeans and chinos.

Durability

For me, these skate sneakers are tough and really made for skating. Since it's a cupsole type, it can last a bit longer than most vulcanized shoes. The suede's quality are top notch and it lasts along time and has not frayed or ripped at all. The three stripes at the midfoot of the shoe double as an extra protective layer and are stitched into the suede.

Comfort

It is ridiculously comfortable. Though it comes with an extended tongue that does not look that comfy, the lower portion of it is made from thick mesh, making it extremely comfortable and breathable. The innards of the shoe feature two cushions on either side of the ankle for support and to keep your ankle snug and in place. Overall, it's a very comfortable shoe despite its appearance.

Fit

Adidas Busenitz pro is true-to-size. It fits snugly and requires no sizing down. It quickly adjusts to your feet and fits adeptly - thanks to its rising support around the inner arch of the foot.

Performance

The Busenitz pro is known for its arrow-shaped toebox. But mind you guys, it offers great grip and board feel while remaining durable and stable.  Another nice feature is the inset lace hole system (thanks to the brand’s soccer heritage). This makes the laces less likely to fray despite repeated abrasion. The flat laces are nicely woven though they’re on the thicker side.

For me, it is cut relatively low. Yeah, it provides a lot of free moving space, but your foot tends to slip out more easily. The sole is top notch, the same sole found on the Adidas Spezial that was originally developed for indoor sports like handball. It comes with the rough and relatively deep pattern in the forefoot area with overlapping circles, making it very suitable for skateboarding. Why? It is very flexible and provide a great grip.

Overall

For me, these shoes are amazing. It is a great shoe for skating as its great for ledges, stair sets, gaps, and flatground. It's durable, comfortable and stylish. However, it could be improved. The breathability, isn't too good. Using rough mesh material on the inner side of the shoe, probably between the stripes so the mesh would be out of reach of griptape might be the solution. But then again, this should only be done if the overall stability doesn't suffer too much. The price and the impact support are probably the shoes' largest drawbacks. Interested parties can pick up the Busenitz Pro at their local skate shop (We Legendary or resellers) or on adidas’ outlets.
