Vans Old Skool silhouette is one of the brand’s premier models, due in large part to its skate-ready construction as well as its ability to transition into simple everydayer shoe. Last year, Vans has dropped a nautically-designed Old Skool, called the Vans Old Skool Yacht Club. This shoe features a canvas upper, suede vamp, padded collar, leather lining, Formstripe branding, and waffle outsole. The Slip-On features a canvas upper, padded collar, leather lining, elasticated side panels, and waffle outsole. Today, select sizes under 5 remain available for this shoe at Vans Store for $60.

These shoes have gotten me quite a few comments and look from people. They have that classic cool factor, they feel comfortable for the most part and seemed to have more cushioning than the Cons I tried before.

My favorite is the black pair (bought it from a FB page Skate Shoes Philippines). It is really a nice low-key shoe with a classic look and feel that you can expect from Vans. Vans Old Skool is a very comfortable skate shoe. Feels true to size. Goes with a lot of different looks. I would completely recommend these! Once they're worn in, they feel so good. $60.

Skate Shoes PH is struggling to keep up with the news and our wallets are struggling to keep up with these awesome Vans releases lately. Next up is something from down under. Perth, Australia's Highs & Lows has a history of releasing highly coveted collaborations and now they are turning their heat onto Vault line.

They chose the Old Skool Zip LX as their base model and transformed it into a sick pair with full grain leather on the vamps and heel counters, and the sidewalls are comprised of s. Highs & Lows' scales logo is stamped in silver on both heels. The model's eye stays are lined with silver eyelets and black, waxed laces are a good addition. The midsoles feature the same style seen on the recent WTAPS releases with the pure white on the bottom and black above where the foxing stripe would be.

The Sk8 Hi LX comes with a tonal black colorway from the midsole to the ankle collar. There's oily, all black premium leather covers the vamp and heel counters while the quarters make use of the same ballistic mesh seen on the Old Skool, but this time, it is printed with repeat logo pattern. Both pairs have clear outsoles through which alternating "HIGHS" and "LOWS" branding can be seen. The lining of both pairs is also the same, though we're not sure what it is.

The Vault by Vans x Highs & Lows Old Skool Zip and Sk8 Hi LX will be available this Saturday, September 17th at Vault retailers like Sneakersnstuff. Check your local for availability.

A year ago, Vans introduced the Lite technology to their Classic silhouettes. Also, they brought the materials to an Authentic with the help of KICKS/HI in their Mynah Bird collaboration. Today, the brains behind the Lite moniker are bringing the materials to their Vault line in the way of three new models: the Authentic, Old Skool, and Sk8 Hi LX Lite.

Vans decided to pair their proprietary CMEVA-bases Ultracush Lite cushioning system for footbed and outsole with premium leather uppers to recreate the normal look of a Vault but with a far more comfortable and lighter feel.

The first drop gives us two colorways each of the Old Skool LX Lite and Sk8 Hi LX Lite: white/black and gray/white. For the three pairs of Authentic LX Lites, Vans decided to go the monotone route and give us all black, gray, and white pairs with matching mids. Leather tongue tags, sock liners, and Vans flag tags finish off each pair.

The Vans Vault Lite LX Collection releases today online and in store at BLENDS. Check your local Vault stockists for availability.

Check out this original prototype Penny Vans, made by simonwoodstock777. He spent many hours on the details, bending and fabricating the pennies that cover every square inch of outer surface on the upper. He used a variety of natural colored/aged pennies as well as a hand (and spray) painted pennies to achieve the various color schemes seen on the shoe. He used actual Old Skool Vans shoes for an artistic pair of canvas canvases (Ha ha! Get it?).

If you look carefully, He meticulous preserved the Vans brand specific details, which include the black penny old school side stripe, the Vans trademark tag under the stripe, and the classic Vans red logo tags on the rear back of the sole. These shoes are fully wearable and are designed to function as slip-on (although they do pinch at the arch of the foot at the toes quite a bit). They are size 12 and fit that size, but could probably work for 11.5 and even size 11 if you wore double socks.

They predominately serve as an impressive display pair of shoes on a shelf or would look pretty amazing in a window or case at a shop, etc.

Steve Van Doren himself had the following words to say about these very Penny Vans:

"Nice. Side stripe looks great" . . . "The true spirit of Vans" comes thru these shoes "Old school look and all."

Van Doren further encouraged to "wear them with Pride skate them with Pride." and pointed out that "You are ready at a whim when someone comes up a few cents short!  A quick Kickflip and Bam 2 cents come off. Have fun." -  SVD

These very rare prototype Vans are a great conversation piece and will go to the highest bidder! Just think, you could have the best pair of 'penny loafers' in town!! Place your bid!

"How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15.
