Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan 1 High dubbed “Shattered Backboard” this year that's inspired by his airness' backboard shattering moment in Trieste, Italy way back in 1985.




Before the Jordan/Bulls era, Michael Jordan was breaking backboards in exhibition games overseas. During a Nike Exhibition game in Trieste, Italy, Michael Jordan scored 30 points before shattering the backboard on the opposing team. Cool eh?

The Nike Air Jordan 1 High “Shattered Backboard” will feature the jersey worn by Jordan at the Nike exhibition game (a Black Orange and White colorway). The remastered Air Jordan 1 ‘Chicago’ releases May 30th for $160 + tax, so don’t plan to spend all of your tax returns just yet. Give us a pair of shoes which are damn near two bills, but looks fresh out of the box from the ’90s and we're content. We mean, it’s not like prices for Jordan shoes are ever going to decrease anyway. If we're going to paying extra, We’d at least rest easy knowing that the quality is better and the attention to details are there.

The J1 Chicago features the original color scheme of White, Black and Varsity Red. There's a Nike Air treatment displayed on the tongue and it will come in the Chicago Bulls colorways that we all grew up loving – thanks MJ.

Air Jordan has unveiled its Black History Month Line up for 2015. Yearly, Nike creates a special line up to commemorate African American history using signature silhouettes. In recent years, Kobe, Dunks,Lebron, Durant models have been part of the line up, including a few Air Jordan models. This upcoming 2015, the Air Jordan 1 is confirmed, featuring it’s OG high cut, BHM on the tongue and the theme behind this years story. Cop or Pass?
